Privacy Policy

PRIVACY POLICY

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that Pools for Canterbury Limited have an appropriate policy for managing the personal information of its clients and employees in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.  The purpose of the Act is to keep people’s personal information safe and secure.   This policy sets out where we will use, disclose and protect your personal information and this policy does not limit or exclude any of your rights under the Act.  If you wish to seek further information on the Act, see www.privacy.org.nz

This policy applies to all Pools for Canterbury Limited clients and employees and includes all current and former workers including company employees, contractors and on hired staff.  We will only use your personal information for the purposes it was collected for.

 

Protecting your Personal Information

Pools for Canterbury Limited makes a commitment to ensure your personal information is collected responsibly and stored safely.  Any serious breaches of Privacy will be reported to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC) via the on line Notify Us tool.  Complaints will be handled by the Privacy Officer, including working with the OPC on any escalated complaints.  

Pools for Canterbury Limited uses technical and organisational security measures in order to protect the data we have under our control against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction and against access by unauthorised persons. Our security procedures are continually enhanced as new technology becomes available.

 

Further to this we will:

  • Lock or secure confidential information at all times
  • Encrypt electronic information and safeguard databases
  • Use secure document destruction services for disposal of confidential information 
  • Make sure we only view confidential information on secure devices
  • Only disclose information to other employees or clients when it’s necessary and authorised
  • Keep confidential documents inside our company’s premises unless it’s necessary to move them

 

Disclosing your Personal Information

We may disclose your personal information where authorised by the Privacy Act or another law.

Privacy Officer

Compliance will be managed by the Goom Group Human Resources Manager on behalf of Pools for Canterbury Limited.  Any issues identified will be reported to the Human Resources Manager.  Any alleged Privacy breaches should be notified in writing.

Subject to certain grounds for refusal set out in the Act, you have the right to access your readily retrievable personal information that we hold.  If you believe on reasonable grounds that the information we hold on file for you is incorrect, you may request a correction of this information, please notify us in writing by emailing.
